Personal Video History

What do you think about getting every boy scout to video tape someone who is important or who has taught them a scouting principle which has helped them be successful in their life. What are the guiding principles and stories behind these values?

What if we could compress these, preserve and share these stories?

If we don't utilize the media tools in this fashion, these timeless values may not make it deep into the hearts of the next generation.

I think this is a great idea. My son did this with his Grandmother when she was 90, 95, 102, and 104. The values she learned while growing up during the Great Depression, taught her to be thrifty, these values are now preserved for the great-grandchildren

She shared stories which I now have on video tape and count as one of my prized possessions.

My son used Sorenson Squeeze to compress the footage and now it is hosted on a family website.
It is a grand item whose time has come.

What if we start building a library of the collective wisdom of those who fought for freedom, those who have survived these challenges have great wisdom.

The economic woes which face our country and youth might be better mitigated by simply hearing and understanding what it was like for those who grew up in these troubled times.
